Borked Xbox, help needed!

I have a modded Xbox - Wireless Xapt3r & Executer 2.6
It keeps locking up whilst playing Halo2, I've tried 3 copies of Halo2 and everyone does the same.
It dosen't seem to do it on any other game (so far).
It's definately not the DVD drive - I've swapped over drives between 2 (both Philips).
I hadn't played Halo2 on it before modding it, so I don't know if it did this prior to modding. Halo is being played with the chip off, so maybe the chip isn't the problem?
I've cleared cache in E,X,Y & Z - still no luck.
Any help or suggestions?

I've taken the chip out, played Halo2 & it still freezes. Think it's the Xbox, will take it back and exchange for another.
