    Starcraft or...?

    Want to get get an online game for me and my buddy to play...BUT

    1. He has a Mac
    2. I have a laptop with an average graphics card.
    3. He doesnt game much

    Starcraft good idea? What else would fulfill our needs???

    Great choice.

    Starcraft is in 2D and runs at a low-res, so will work on almost any gfx card with no probs. It also only requires a Pentium 90 (!!) for CPU so it'll run on any PC made after 1994 or so. The Mac requirements are probably similarly just as low, I'd imagine.

    My advice is to get a version with the Brood Wars expansion such as the BattleChest release. Once you play with the Brood War units, going back to vanilla StarCraft is a bit of a comedown.

    One other thing. Try playing a co-op game first (two against one CPU enemy will almost certainly be enough if you're new to the genre). Believe me, playing competitively at Starcraft can ruin friendships...
