    Recording your gaming skillz

    Recording your gaming skillz

    Hi Guys,

*Boast mode* Ok so I?ve just completed Halo2 on Legendary *boast mode* and I was wanting to know how to record my uber skills via my PC.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

    Many thanks

    Tommy

Easiest way is to get a cheap video capture card. I got one with s-video and composite video input for less than 20 quid.

Audio capture is via the red and white phono/RCA plugs thru a 3.5mm jack adapter into the line-in on the sound card.

if you have a RF lead for you Xbox, connect it up to a PC with a PCI TV card (or external USB one) for example like this one

and the bundled software will allow you to record straight to your hard drive, sod to play the game via this method though and record as you play as picture is normally choppy when recording (but fine when playing back), alternatively (and route I take) is to connect consolse upto a DVD Recorder or VCR, then when done, play it back through the PC TV card and record it then.

Clear as mud ? hope not, any questions ask away.

      EDIT: too slow, blooming work.

Tommy, send it to me and I'll put it on a DVD-ROM for you if you want, PM me. (I'm actually quite curious to see this). It'd save you buying a capture card just for that.

Just rung my tech support (roost) and i should be able to capture via my grx card as it has VIVO

EDIT: ok found my old xbox cable, so i've got it all hooked up and i've installed the software that came with my grx card (PowerDirector)

Got it all sorted now, but you're right david the way i'm doing it is a real sod to play whilst recording at the same time. It's not so much the flickering but the fact that i'm playing on a screen within the powerdirector that's only 2 by 2 inchs wide! and there's no way of expanding it!! Can you recommend any decent software?

              Cheers

              Tommy
