ps1 games with mod chip detection

after selling my playstation games a while back i've started to collect them again and was there some games that could detect if you had a modded unit ?

is there a list of these games as im only going for us or jpn region games

only asking as i've bought metal gear solid integral and i'm sure it has this detection in it and a few other like dino crisis

    thanks

Get yourself a psxchange boot disc, it works with most games (but not all) esp not multi disc titles.
    Thats not much help!Sorry.

In my experience a chip is best for older titles (with multiple tracks) whereas a boot disc is better for late releases.

I've got a spare psxchange2 boot disc for sale if you're interested.

Aren't most decent mods undetected by the games anyway?

well the only mod is the stealth mod for ps1 and dms chips for ps2 that aren't detected but i'm trying to make up a list of the games that have this if possible

I have Xenogears, will psxchange2 work with that?

Also is Mini Game Hunter any good for playing imports?

Quite a lot of the bemani games series such as dance dance revolution & guitar freaks have modchip protection.

I think umjammer lammy has it too.

Get a stealth chip as its your best bet, or better still try to find a cheap jpn ps one then you dont have to worry about it at all.

Those things work fine as long as you have the required parrellel port on the back of your machine.
Simple enough, you put in an original disc, it reads the security ring, then it stops the disc. Then you just insert your import.

These things are great plus they cut out the stupidly slow boot up screen and memory card menu. The problem with them is they take the audio track divisions from the boot cd you use, not a problem for most games but some of the older shooters use redbook audio and you will end up with totally screwed up music or none at all. To play such games either a chip or a Jp ps1 is needed, I learned the hard way.
