How do I play import games on a modded ps2?

Hi
I've just bought a pal modded ps2, and the seller didn't send any instructions as to how to play import titles on it,
I wondered if anyone might know how to enable the mod?
I don't know what particular mod chip is fitted, but I don't see any switch, and it is one of the large shaped Ps2's.

With my Messiah chipped PS2, you simply put the game in & hit reset.

Surely it should just be a case of sticking the disc in and playing without doing anything special?

Some of the older chips require you to turn on the console, insert the disk as usual, then hold reset for a few secs, when it resets hold it again for a few (4-5) secs to turn the chip on.

Once the chip is on you don't have to do it again, however, you will have to turn it off (same method) to play DVD's.

I have a magic 3.1 chip and i just find reseting a few times activates it (though i think you have to hold reset if you want to run psx games)

Yep just tried the ps2 again, and it managed to play Raiden 3,

hmm i must have a wierd one then as i just put the game in and close the tray and the game loads up no pressing reset or anything

Mine does the same, but I had to activate the chip with the reset method first. Now I chuck anything in and it loads.

Same here - think I've got one of the Matrix Infinity's in mine.

With a PAL Messiah modded PS2 to play PS2 games and PAL PS1 games all you need to do is put in the disk close the tray and hit reset. For DVD's and both copied and/or import PS1 games you need to do a double tap of the reset button ie put the disk in, close the tray, hit reset, wait for a second and hit the reset button again.

same here. I've got a Ripper Chip 2 and if I want to play a ps2 game (regular, import or backup) i just insert it and it loads fine. if I want to play a ps1 game i have to insert the disc and press reset twice. watching dvds with RGB insert disc and press resest 3 times.
