Does Tales of Symphonia start off slowly and then get much better?

How many hours to complete tales, Ive got it sitting on my shelf waiting to be cracked open

I finished the main quest in about 46 hours. I really really enjoyed it too, but not quite enough that I've gone back to do the side quests yet.

Takes around 40-50 hours. Probably my top game of the generation, just oozes charm.

You'll know the event when things pick up, if you still aren't enjoying it after this then I wouldn't bother playing the rest.

Took me 45 and I did enjoy it, though it was getting a little tiresome towards the end. the dark dungeon in particular. I definitely wouldn't say it changes that much either, so if you're not liking it after 10 hours, you won't like it.
Playing it 2-player made it for me.

The psudo-real time battle system means I found t e game a lot more fun th trawl through than the usual generic RPG.

I am 8 hours and in and haven't played the game for nearly 3 weeks now. I was so under-whelmed by the game I doubt I will play it again.
