Getting a step-down for an import console

I am looking to buy a step-down adaptor to convert 240v to 110v, but was wondering if they sell such things that convert it both ways - i.e. I could take it to america and use it to charge my British stuff at 240v instead of 110v. Not having bought one of these doodahs before I don't know what I need, or if its even possible.

Make sure you get one that can handle enough wattage. Gamecube only needs about 30W iirc but something like XBox needs 100W (I think?) and no doubt the new gen of beasts will need even more wattage to turn the fans and flash the LEDs and all that needless extra ****.

I have this step-down for use with my import consoles incl. an ntsc Xbox. I'm very happy with it (had it for almost 2 years now) & it's been 100% reliable & doesn't run hot with prolonged use.

Weighs an absolute ton though so be prepared to pay almost the same price again for postage!

I bought the 200w one from Maplin ages ago, works really well and silent, they have them in their half price sale now again also which is nice, might be worth investigating if you have a Maplins nearby.
