Speakers Needed and a Decent Surround Amp

Hello chaps
I'm currently thinking about upgrading my Sony DAVS 550s DVD player and surround system.
I'm going to get an oppo HDMI upscaling dvd player and am looking for a decent amp and speakers (all in one package).Thing is I can't seem to find one that doesn't come with its own dvd player.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm looking to spend about ?200 - ?250 mark

logitech z-5500 are good speakers that can decode 5.1 etc and are very nice but more for pc use but you could use them with the dvd player if it has optical output

not cheap but I bit the bullet and got full Jamo 5.1 setup...
no complaint from me...

like my old man says you do get what you paid for...
