    Mega Drive Trouble shooting

Well I've just recently purchased a Mega Drive 2 UK and a number of times when it loads up the games image is broken and/or distorted. Also the produced or under licence sega screen is often distorted or flickering. I've checked the RF Lead and that's not the cause of the problem.

At first I thought it might be the games but now I believe it to be the unit as if you gently tap it when the game is displaying a broken image it will often restore the image to it's correct display. It doesn't like changing game either as the problem tends to start up again when you swap games, could the connectors need a clean?

I've cleaned the games cart pins and that seems to have fixed it slightly but not by much. Someone else pointed to the MD pins as the problem, but I'm have problems trying to clean them any advise?

Is this a known problem is there a fixed or should I return it for a replacement unit?

this guide may help, it does sound like a loose cartridge port problem.

Thanks, Hellbelly pm'ed me with the same website and I've just being trying it out.

I've pulled them a little way forward and that seems to have fixed it slightly but the carts still feel a bit loose in the MD so I'll try pulling them some more.
