    FreeView digital USB receiver

Anyone seen this kind of USB device or have one?

A quick search found out that at around 45 pounds you can buy a device which plugs into your USB 2 slots and you can watch TV!

The BBC are running a trial at the moment for their new download service. You'll be able to grab any BBC show you like and download it to your HD. You can subscribe to series too and it will automatically keep you updated. I think there is going to be HDTV content too at some point.

It's not exactly what you're after but will cost ?0 and will be excellent quality.

Yeah I've seen what the BBC are trying to do, but I'm more interested in watching ITV, Channel 4 etc on the go (using a laptop).
Well how many channels can you get on freeview now? More than 15 or so right...

For people who don't have a TV card installed, this option seems pretty straightforward

Second one down is what you'd want. I personally have one of their internal PCI cards (T200, right at the top), and it does the job fine.

Official website of manufacturer for more information:

          Hope this helps.

Wow, been looking about at this, and there are even small USB key type ones for about ?50! Not much more expensive than the cheapo boxes, and they even do the radio stuff!

This sounds interesting, and I may invest in one!

Applications have closed though they are due to launch the end of this month.

Weird, I was just flicking through the Freeview and the Idealworld channel had a USB receiver by Freecom:

Very tempted to pick one of these up.

                          It's a whole ?1.41 cheaper

Doesn't really matter which one I get it from really, they're both just 5 minutes from my doorstep.
