Best possible picture from a pal megadrive?

Whats the best way to connect a mark 1 pal megadrive to my tv for the best picture quality without modding it? Also does the pal megadrive play all genesis carts or just some of them? Thanks for any answers,sorry if this has been asked before.

Scart-RGB. You can also mod the cable (not the megadrive) so it outputs stereo instead of mono. You'll have to attach the headphone output in the front to the audio Scart connectors.

Alternatively there's the option of getting a French Megadrive with an official Sega RGB SCART cable, something like this. Not sure if those cables alone work with non-french machines though (I'm sure I read elsewhere to the negative), but they do give a damn nice picture.
