Can PAL N64 output video through AV?

I recently resurrected my PAL N64 for some retro Perfect Dark goodness, but couldn't find the RF cable so bought this AV cable. The trouble is I'm not getting any sort of video or sound. (I also tried it with my Gamecube composite to no avail).

I'm not sure whether it's my N64 that's knackered or whether it's an issue with the cable. Anyone got any suggestions?

Interesting that you're not getting video or sound at all.
Your N64 may well be knackered then...
Might be a stupid question but do you have multiple AV channels and you've checked them all? Are you using a switch box or have you tried plugging it directly into the TV? Tried leaving out the SCART bit and plugging it directly into the phones? Some of those SCART bits have an in/out switch and won't work if you've got it the wrong way.
Not sure what else to suggest really.

Tried it every which way but loose: through switch box (original plan), direct with nothing else in, the individual ports on the front of the telly. The SCART bit doesn't have a switch on it, so don't think its that.
Cheers anyway, looks like it's finally suffered its demise.

Unclip the N64 end of the cable and check the wires against this page and see if it's connected correctly for what you want out of it. Long shot though. The AV port on your N64 could well just be broken.

Have you tried it on a SNES?
