Problem with ps2.. shuts off on its own.

Here's the problem chaps, my friend's ps2 is borked I reckon and he wants to know if he can get it fixed cheap somewhere. Basically, whenever he's playing a game... the ps2 starts producing a buzzing noise, and after a few seconds it shuts off completely. What do you think the problem could be, and for how much could he get it fixed (and where)? Thanks for any help...

Mine had the exact same problem. I stuck it on eBay in the end, got ?40 for it which wasn't bad considering it was knackerd. He didn't buy mine did he?
