As many of you will know, the original MegaDrive could only output mono sound through the Scart socket - Stereo sound had to be achieved by using custom Scart cables that took the sound from the headphones port.
These are pretty common, VGI have them for instance.
Something I've never seen before is modified MD2 Scart cables. What's the point? Well I dislike the MD2, just not for me.... so my setup is basically an MD1, MCD1 and a 32X.... the video/audio output for everything comes out via the 32X, which uses MD2-style connectors... so you have to use a MD2 Scart cable. Since the sound is being sent to the 32X via the MD1 video out, all sound is mono - boo. The ideal solution would be a modified MD2 Scart cable similar to the MD1 cable, that takes sound from the MD1 headphones port.
Did anyone ever try to make one of these?
