Bit of console paranoia. PSP

Just charging up my PSP for the first time and the light went out after about just 4 hours (shouldn't this take like 7 hours or something), also the back is very warm.

Is this natural or am I gonna kill my PSP the first day I get it

no its always worth overcharging the 1st time

we just got new house phones and it stated in the manual that they had to be charged for about 14 hours - but they were full probably after about 5 hours

unsure why
