Which NTSC PS2 should I chip to play UK PS2 games?

I've recently aquired a Jap slimline PS2 cheap.
I also have have a standard Jap 10000 series PS2 and a standard US 30001 series PS2. All the PS2's I have got have never been chipped.

I am wanting to chip one of the PS2's to believe it or not, play Singstar but which PS2 should I chip?

I prefer to chip one of my Jap PS2 consoles but I'm wondering which chip on which PS2 is most compatible for me to play all region games.

I don't give a toss about the DVD's but being able to play standard PS One games would be a bonus.

Someone help me out, pretty please!
P.S. Some links to where I can get it chipped would be nice.

Oh yeah, PS2 HD Loader...
Is that for the standard PS2 or the slimline?
That is also summat I need to consider when I chip my PS2!

i'd say mod the slimline ps2 and keep the other unmodded but i'm just taking as a collector as you cant buy the old style ps2's anymore

dms 4 lite or pro would be the best chip to go for
