    Panasonic Q and cables

I just got hold of some new GC component cables for my PAL Gamecube as I heard the picture quality through these was the best. These arrived today, and I haven't had a chance to actually connect the GC up to the TV yet.

However, I also looked at my Panasonic Q, which is also packed away. This seems to have the same slot, with a similar kind of connector as the component cable supports, but I've never heard of anyone actually connecting their Q with component cables, as the Saurian modded cable is always recommended for best quality. Do I seem to be missing something here, or are the component cables supposed to work with the Q?

The component cables work fine with the Q for games, but not DVD's, you'll need to stick in an S-video cable for that.

And I don't think you'll be able to use progressive with a Pal cube either. But then I didn't even know they had the digi out.

I've read somewhere that Freeloader forces the game into progressive anyway, asking if you want to use it. Not sure though......

You can use progressive scan with any cube if it has a digital port - works on PAL cubes regardless of whether you're using FreeLoader or a modchip.

So even the component cable gets downgraded to composite in dvd-mode on the Q?

Prog. Scan works on PAL Cubes fine, it's just most PAL games have the Prog. Scan mode removed.

An interesting thing, PAL F-Zero GX throws itself into 480p mode when loaded up on a Freeloader.

Is there a way to force an NTSC Killer 7 progressive, as the HDTV arcade website lists it with no progressive mode available.

The Qoob modchip can do this. I think it's the only way.
