    External Hard Drives.

Guys can anyone recommened a decent external HD for my Samsung V60 laptop? I've checked Ebuyer but there are that many that i don't have a clue which are good and which are cack. I'm looking for something around 80-120 gig and pretty smallish....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

you could buy a USB2/firewire hard disk enclosure and then put any IDE drive of your choice in there, one idea at least.

you can't go wrong with many of the brands, I use my ipod mostly for an external drive

If you don't mind paying a primium for portability, you can't go wrong with one of these bad boys...

Discover LaCie’s range of storage solutions, including external hard drives, SSDs, and RAID systems. Perfect for professionals and enthusiasts seeking reliable and high-performance storage.

100GB it fits in your pocket, and is host powered. Awesome little things, we've bought about 5 of these for work, for no good reason other than the fact they're so cool! Not exactly cheap though!

Those are sweet guys, but ideally i don?t want to spend more than 80 quid if i can help it. By porta bility i kind of meant no bigger than a notebook,t hanks for the input so far though!

I would suggest that you get on to pricerunner.co.uk and do a search for external hard drives up to ?80 or so. Good names to go for are the traditional big names (Seagate, Maxtor, Western Digital etc) and Lacie.

Here's a few that came up on Pricerunner fairly readily:
