    What happened to Will2003?

Years go i got a modded ps2 from him. I sold it and now i realise that was a huge mistake!

So I'm after a modded pstwo and heard he no longer mods consoles. What's the score, he was the trusted guy and the thought of getting someone else to do this is not that great! Any ideas or possibility of tracking him down? Or are there any new stars in the world of fiting chips?

ps know this is a bt dodgy these days but heh - worth a try!

He's still around as far as i know. I think he posted not so long ago.

He stopped modding PS2's when Sony got heavy, but i think he carried on with X-Box's and Gamecubes for a while after.

Not sure now. Have you tried his site,London Consoles?

    EDIT - Seems it's down.

Be hard finding anyone to touch a PS2 now. I think londonconsole stopped modding them after the lawsuit thingy that sony threatened everyone with.

I tried accessing the London Console site a few months back and it was down then too so either there has been a big coincidence or the site no longer exists.

I know last year (just a week before Christmas) I got a modded Xbox off him and he had stopped PS2s by then so he did continue doing non-Sony consoles for at least some time but the lack of a site may suggest he?s given up altogether.

He had stopped by summer last year as I asked him about doing one for me around August time. In the end I got a modded console elsewhere that had the laser start dying on me soon after, so Will graciously did some work on a new one I got. But that was probably the last one he ever did.

Poo! I'd love to know how you get on fitting your own - tempted to give it a go myself! Its a shame as small word of mouth fittingswould be quite lucrative i'd have thought!

Has anyone (in Australia obviously.... ahem) tried fitting one of the latest non-solder chips?

Just get a flip lid (or in the case of slimline owners, some of those clips to hold the sensors closed) and a copy of swap magic. A monkey with a screwdriver could fit it (and I did, there's proof), and it'll play 99% of import stuff. I've survived all this time without a chip, and don't see the need.

One of my xboxes was another matter mind, but I fitted a no-solder in about 30 mins.

Will was on earlier. I spied him in the list.

iirc a couple of weeks ago I think I saw a geezer modding PS2s at Wembley Market.

Will did mine around April time I think just prior to the whole lawsuit thing.

But a guy that modded my Xbox had lots of Silver PS2's modded for other people. I have a number for him. He lives in London somewhere but I forget where...
