just ordered sc 3 but thinking thinking this game would be better with a joystick for a more acrade feel. So any one know a good acrade or joystick for ps 2 not looking to pay too much maybe 40 total max

'a bit more'? you normally have to pay over double of Duke's requirement to buy one at normal price with shipping (unless you're a jammy bast and was able to get one of the RAP preorders at YesAsia)
to be honest, 40 doesn't get you much, unless you go for the second hand route. the best stick I've seen new for about 40 is a Hori Fighting Stick 2, which is about ?35-?40. it's not too bad for the price, and it can be modded with decent parts later on once the stock parts have kicked the bucket (I've seen one or two). Also, there is the Virtua Stick - it's the same price as an RAP normally at other sites, but VideoGameImports are selling them for ?65 without shipping. You can get some good deals second hand if you're lucky - As Superdan mentioned, you can grab a nice Namco stick if you're willing to fight for it over at ebay. There's also the original Hori fighting sticks that are out and about - I was able to pick up one at an indie for a tenner. Also, you might be lucky with members of this site selling Used Soul Calibur 2 sticks, or even Hori RAPs - I've seen SC2 sticks for about ?25-?35, while the used RAPs tend to go for about ?50-odd.Comment
