USA Animal Crossing:WW in UK?

Does anyone have any idea whether the American version of Animal Crossing will work with the British versions for online play? I really want to import since the release date for here is currently end of March (!!!), but am worried it won't connect to UK ones, and obviously it would be a pain to have to start a new town after 4 months of play.

Any info is appreciated.

well going by the first wifi DS game Mario Kart i would say it should work

Mario Jap works with US and UK and vice versa

Wouldnt make sense if a region free console put region coding on just one section of their games

AFAIK the JP version of AC does not work with English ones.

No, all the DSs are the same so there's no problem with that, but according to a reliable source of mine who lives in Japan and owns the JP version, the codes and visiting stuff is incompatible.
If I hear any different I'll post back though.
