Mario kart Regions

Hi please answer my querie:

If I play a American version of Mario Kart DS on a American Nintendo DS
and go Online Wi-Fi with my British Router, in Britain and choose Regional under the search options will I be playing British or American opponents?

I imagine regional is only your own language as I'm fairly sure that the us and british versions are exactly the same.

I was wondering about this last week. My mate got his router setup and couldnt connect using a American version of Mario Kart DS. However, when I tried to connect using my British version it worked first time

He still has connection problems though. I think there is an issue with doing regional games right enough.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm just about to buy Mario Kart and was going to get the US one,but if it doesn't connect i dont think i will.

no probs connecting to regional games here with a US mario kart my mrs has the cart and played online only last night

I would just like to point out that he did get online (just after I did), but he had been trying for a week with no success (and his modem is one star away from fully recommended)

We still havent sussed out if it is the router or the game thats the problem. ft:

No probs whatsoever running US/EU MK on a JP/US/EU DS in our household, wifi link or WFC. It all works flawlessly.

Infact, a mate pointed out that his UK copy even comes up with US phone numbers when he gets a WFC connection error, so that would suggest that the code on the EU carts is infact US?
