Best Place To Import A White DS?

Ok, my son, bless him, wants to buy me a white DS for Christmas after catching me drooling over pictures of one the other day.

I'm assuming that the place place to go would be YesAsia because of their free shipping but seeing as you clever people know a lot more about these things than me I thought I'd ask in here first.

Also, how easy is it to set up a Japanese DS to English language?

Not very difficult... I think even the Japanese DS units ask what language you want to use when you first turn them on.

I got a Japanese one. I seem to remember having to put a few things in at the beginning first, like my name, but there was a button to change the character set to Roman alphabet instead of Japanese. Then once it was configured, you just press the little options button at the bottom of the main screen when you turn it on and everything is icon driven. So spanner for settings and then the globe pic for language setting. Very easy.

Yeah, setting it up in English is a doddle, and I'd go with YesAsia definitely. They'd likely upgrade the shipping to UPS or something, and if you happened to get hit with tax on that you get it credited back to your account anyway.

hmm i was considering yesasia but if they ups it, i dunno what i'd do with the credit as i never really order from them. i've only used them once for a few dvds a few weeks back and that was it.

i guess i could use the credit to buy stuff and sell that stuff on here...

Yesasia is the only way to go for importing from Asia by far the best in every way.

I got my white DS from NY,for $175,which at the time was about ?90.

Seems its only $140 now,and they did tell me they would ship anything i wanted to the UK,as they can take paypal payments.

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice on this thread. Much appreciated. Unfortunately, I dilly-dallied a bit too long on this matter and now yesasia have a shipping time of 7-14 days on the white DS's which is cutting it too fine I think.


He'll have to buy me something else now I think..........those white Cubes look nice......

well hold out i say!

i noticed the 7-14 day wait is there too. there was an ebay seller whose site is www.goldberg-mods.co.uk and they had brand new white DS's for £85 (and they're in the uk so no tax) but they're gone now. maybe they'll get some more soon? it's worth a shot, and no worries about tax or yesasia credit (which you could use on sega rally 2006 of course!)
