    A problem with my balls

I have a cart only copy of super monkey ball jnr for the gba, hence no instruction manual.
It appears to be a genuine nintendo cart as it has all the correct marks, 3 slot screw, indentated numbers on the label, nintendo stamped on the pcb etc but not sure if its uk or usa. The problem is i keep reading in reviews of the game, including the one on Ntsc-uk, that the a and b buttons on the gba are supposed to tilt the playing field to the left or right during play, except when i play the game on my original gba or my new micro pressing the a and b buttons seem to have no effect. Its not a problem with the buttons as they work perfectly fine at all times on every other game. So whats going on with smb jnr? Anyone else noticed this? What does the manual say regarding the a/b buttons? Help please.

Hmmm...I'm saying this from memory but I don't remember a or b tilting. What I do remember is that one of the buttons reduces the amount you tilt with the d-pad though. Sort of a way of compensating for the lack of analogue.

Have you tried running forwards while holding a or b or both and seeing if that makes a difference?

A and B don't tilt on their own. What actually happens is that you push a direction to tilt, and then while holding it down, holding A will cause a steep tilt and B a shallow one.
