    Problem with DC-X

My Japanese Dreamcast is dead, so I'm having to play my Japanese games by using DC-X on my PAL Dreamcast. Trouble is its only playing them at 50hz, so I'm just wondering am I doing somthing wrong? I'm only using the demo, could that be why?

Could be? Dcx should play jpn games at 60hz on a pal dc and force 60hz mode in most 50hz pal games. What games are you having this problem with? I know the dcx isnt keen on certain games. Youre using a rgb scart lead? right?

Yes I'm using RGB. So far I have tried Ikaruga, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and House of the dead 2. They are all playing at 50hz.

Not the same problem but I found DC-X wouldn't play titles properly in VGA mode either.. doesn't do what it says on the tin it seems.

Isn't there a mode in DC-X where you hold down B or something when you boot and it gives you a menu? You can then for 60Hz from the menu. Sorry for the lack of specifics here.

Yes, press "A" or START (forget which, just press both together), put the disc in, and choose NTSC from the menu that appears. The instructions that come in the box have all this info and more.

I never got any instructions in my box, although it was brand new and sealed. Doh.

Ok thanks I'll try that in a bit. However somthing really odd happened earlier, don't know if it was becuase I was holding the B button down or what but Powerstone 2 came up with a menu where I could select either 50hz or 60hz. It was a menu like PAL games have except this is a Japanese game. Anyway I selected 60hz but it still played in 50, lol, so not sure what the point in that was.

Some games won't play at fullscreen 60hz on a Pal machine no matter what disc you use. Ikaruga is one game that requires an ntsc machine.

NTSC Dreamcasts can be picked-up for less than ?30 if you look around!

None of the buttons seem to have done anything anyway!. Anything else I should be trying?
