Xbox 360 not powering off properly?

    Right...
When powering off (with either the console power button/ joypad) the consoles lights go out, yet it still sounds like the console is still on, and the PSU's light is still green?
Is it safe to turn off the mains while this is going on?

Other times while powering off, the consoles fan/ disc drive sounds like they've shutdown and the PSU light is at amber?

I think the fan keeps running for a short while to make sure everything cools down properly. I imagine it wouldn't take too long?

I heard the fans still go after its off to cool it down...

      might be wrong though.

Yeah, it does carry on with the fans for a bit to help cooling. I've not known it to go on for more than a couple of minutes maximum mind.

The amber light on the pack just means there's power to the system and it's in standby (green for when the 360 unit is switched on and red if there's a problem)
