Fake DS games?! Is there such a thing?

As title really, I know places like Ebay are rife with bootleg GBA games, but what's the score with Nintendo DS titles?

I've seen loads of decent games on there and all of varying prices but just wondering if it's safe to buy games on there?

I know will UK games it's generally easy to see with the big red nintendo strip around the plastic but what about US games etc?

I noticed the cases are smalled but what about the plastic, I've seen games in 'proper' plastic seals and also that heat shrink looking stuff but that doesn't mean anything does it?

Any help appreciated as it would be nice to grab a bargain or too but I don't want to get a dodgy one!

I've tried looking at the games I do have to spot potential genuine marks (like the little dented letters on GBA cart labels, but really have no idea?!

If there are fake carts how would I spot one?

    Cheers!

Hmmm ive not heard anything about fake DS carts yet but the pirate world moves very fast. I assume a good way to tell is by the same ways on GBA carts, check the sticker and see if its raised or flat, look at the chip board (back of the cart) and see if nintendo is on it (TBH this seems alot more likely to be copied as its much more visible on DS carts). This is just my limited knowledge on the subject so im not 100% on any of this.

      check the shipping quotes

i've seen loads at about ?18 which is a nice price but with ?8 and a non-optional ?4 insurance - the game quickly becomes ?30

        Thanks for the info guys!

I did a little digging on the web and didn't turn up anything, so I can only presume that there aren't any - OR the problem isn't too widespread?!

Thanks for the tip Buster, I didn't really pay too much attention to shipping, but after reading your post I saw what you mean! Looks like no such thing as a cheap DS game on Ebay!

I guess for now I'll stick to reputable places to get stuff, still curious as to different wrappings on games - does this mean anything?

I do remember whilst working for HMV though that some PS2 games for example didn't have the regular Sony wrapping on them so perhaps it's just nothing?!
