    MD2 and PSone PSUs

I have PAL MD2 and PSone systems (both switched/chipped but that's irrelevent) and the mains plugs are big. Does this mean that the PSUs are inside these, GC/N64 style? Basically i'm wondering how I can run these on a 110v voltage.

    Thanks.

I have never seen a PSOne PSU, but I assume, like the MD2, it has an external PSU. In the case of these, you need the Japanese equivalents to the UK PSUs (I assume you are taking your machines to Japan).

The rating should be the same in terms of polarity and wattage, but obviously the voltage will be different. The easiest thing to do will be to buy equivalents once you are in Japan, or a multi-voltage and wattage PSU you can connect to both machines. If you don't have these, you'll need a step-up convertor.

If you are unsure about the PSOne: if is a 'big' plug, and not a standard house plug, and has power ratings on the label, it's a PSU. Hope that helps.

      what he said

if the psone has an external power supply it'll have input and output ratings written on the 'big plug', something like 'Input AC 220v, Output DC 12v 1A' (I don't know what the exact rating would be).

Another give away is if the 'big plug' gets warm when you use the psone

PSone is 7V positive core dc
MD2 is like 9V I think, pos core again
I bought a multi-voltage adapter to play my US PSone here.
And yes you can get a 110v one that will work for both your PSone and MD
