European Xbox 360: 720p@50hz, is this true?

Read this over at AVF:

"My 360 outputs 720p via component at 50hz & VGA at 60hz with the Samsung TV"

The VGA at 60hz makes sense, because VGA at 50hz generally isn't supported. But is this true? Do European gamers get slower games on their PAL 360s?

I think I posted that over at AV Forums & my Samsung, when pressing info reads 50hz with component & 60hz with VGA. It's true.
It might just be my TV playing up, I played Halo via component, it says it's running at 50hz, but I'm sure it's running at 60hz - the screen stutters, the same way if you had PAL 60 enabled playing a UK copy of Halo.

My screen says 50Hz for Halo too, as it's a 50Hz game. Dunno if it's really running in 50Hz, don't see why my TV would detect it as 50Hz if it's not mind.

If the guy over at AVForums was talking about Halo all along, then we know why.
