Only if the majority of your games are NTSC.

So what happens if you use a component with a PAL game?

You get 576i (PAL interlaced) or 480i (NTSC interlaced).

The GameCube Component cable is totally worth it. The quality of the output is exceptional. Just put F-Zero on a TV with a good scaler and you can begin to almost understand why Nintendo leaving HD out of the Revolution might not be such a terrible idea.

Even on a PAL game, the difference is night and day, especially if using composite. I connected my PAL cube up with both conections (component and composite) and switched between them, and you could easily see that there was an overall better picture to be gained.

Also, some LCDs (e.g. Samsung) supposedly have relatively poor performance through Scart. If you're strapped for cash, ditch the PS2 component cable and get the GC one, you'll notice a much more improvement in overall picture.

Gamecube actually uses component colorspace internally, so its component out is exceptional.

Im getting 2 of those boxes, and linking together. Everyone who has it says there is no drop in quality whatsoever, so saving quite a bit of money over the big component switchers.
