Sorry can't recommend anywhere, but thought id take this thread as chance to ask question. Do PAL chipped machines play US games at 50hz still? i.e slow them down?? I used to own a modded machine a few years ago and this was the case then so got rid of it. just wondered if chip's had improved since then and wondered if they can combat this problem or if UK machines will always run at 50hz????

Any chip made within the last few years at least will just run in the video mode the software specifies. Many higher-end chips like the O2 or DMS4 let you force video mode.

I never even knew there were chips that didn't run NTSC games in NTSC.

I had one a long time ago mate! When it was only possible to chip UK machines! Hence I traded in my US PS2 at a CEX for a UK model so it could be modded, but the difference was dreadful! Max Payne (US) ran in slow motion on my old chipped PAL Machine, it ran full screen but played sllooww, I got rid of it ages ago though.
