NOCHEX - Anything I Should Know?

Anybody use NOCHEX? They look very professional, and loads of people have said good things about them.

At present I'm waiting for the Barclays online banking to work so I can varify the value which they have removed from the account so I can set up my NOCHEX account.

I'm a little concerned that I will mess up to be honest. What exactly happens when you pay someone with NOCHEX? I want to give ?295 to someone and I have read that you need to sign up for thier debt thingy (which is why I have to varify the value in the account). But what exactly do I have to do when my account is varified to pay that account?

Have any of you had bad experiences NOCHEX before? Is there generally anything that you can tell me which will aid me in my future transactions?

    Thanks in Advance:

    -Mike

If you want to give somebody that much money, and don't feel safe using Nochex, just do a normal bank transfer or send a normal cheque. It can't 'go wrong' like that, and at least you'll have the peace of mind which goes with using tried and tested methods.

Well I'd like to get to know NOCHEX anyway. It would be good for the forum trades and eBay!

The main reason I'm using them is that the only payment method Premodded.co.uk appears to accept is NOCHEX...

I'm not really concerned about the NOCHEX service as I have heard of them before etc... I just want to make sure that i'm not missing anything.

      Thanks for the suggestion though.

I use Nochex, and it's not gone wrong for me yet. I've had no quibles at all actually.

ALl you do is, once you find out how much was debited at first, you go online and confirm that on the Nochex site. As long as that's all gone through fine, you should get a screen up saying something along the lines as "You have succesfully setup your Nochex account - Please log in to use the service". Then you only have to sign in and bob's your uncle, the service should be ready to use. To make payments, go to the payment section and type in the email address that the other party has registered themselves with Nochex as, and pay them as much as you need to. You can even decide to pay them straight from your bank account, or transfer from your Bank to your Nochex account, and then pay from your Nochex account.

Once you're in there, it's quite simple. I managed it anyway.

Nochex is fine. I much prefer them to Paypal (although the Yanks can only use Paypal).

Normal accounts only hold up to ?90 at a time on Nochex though.

Isnt there an option now where you can pay through nochex without holding an account with them?

            Or am i going mad?

Yes there is. The whole thing about bank transfers though is that people don't like giving out actual account numbers and sort codes so they feel safer using a thrid party like nochex. I've used nochex for hundreds of pounds worth of transactions and it's been perfect. I would use them over Paypal anyday.

I think the only problem is that transactions can't be reversed - ie you can't get your money back if you pay someone & they run away.

Still, I've never had a problem.
