    360 1080i Question

Just curious, on the back of the box, some games say they support 480p, 720p and 1080i, whereas some only say 720p.

This has me a little confused. It would make sense to think that titles that state 1080i would have 1080i native mode, whereas games that just say 720p do not. However, this would also imply that they do not support 480p, which is obviously false.

Can anyone confirm that games marked as 1080i do actually run in 1080i native, and are not just upscaled to 1080i?

It was my understanding that all games were required to run in 720p and then be scaled up or down, so that the framerate is the same, no matter what resolution you're playing in. (eg 1080i would have more framerate issues than 720p, whereas 480p could be locked to 60 etc)

Oh yeah. But some games specifically mention both 720p and 1080i on the back (RR6, Quake 4), whereas some only mention 720p (Kameo). Implies that some titles actually have proper dedicated 1080i mode, but I've no idea if this is true, or just an error on the packaging.

All games will upscale to 1080i (and downscale to 480p) regardless, so it makes me suspect some games do have 1080i dedicated.
