signing up to xbox live problems

Everytime I try to recover my xbox live account, it says the account registering is currently down. Did anyone else have this problem?

Yes. I ended up getting a new account in the end.

Same as Mad Gear. I didn't get that message but it just refused flat out to recognnise my old account and so oddly enough wouldn't migrate it.

I got that, but then pressed B on that menu and tried again - worked fine.

been trying to sign on for the last few days now and it still wont let me (even if I start a new subscription). What's the point in a 360 if you can't get on line with it? Gah

Try running the network tests and see what it says about your NAT.

If it is strict or moderate, it could be that causing problems

Where can I find this info mate? I'm connecting directly to my modem and not using my PC.

go system settings
network
test settings

or something along those lines

Can you get onto Live using just a USB modem then? (Haven't got Live yet so I can't test it myself )
