English games on a europe 360?

I was just talking to someone on msn and he was telling me I've made a big mistake buying a german 360.

he said though they are pal the 360's have like some sorta region coding that still does not let you play PAL uk games on a german console or vice versa for any other contry.

How much of this is true?

i thought pal is pal.. just diffrent plugs.

If its true I'm either ****ed or better start doing years of german lessons LOL

Might be a way they've introduced to stop German people importing uncut, uncensored or banned games from outside.

Doubt its true mate. PAL is PAL as far as I know. No difference between PAL countries.

Ok, i only know this much, with nintendo nes games there are two Pal regions, region A and region B, Pal a is for UK gamers and Pal region B is for Italy, France, Spain, and i'm not sure if Germany was one or not, and i don't know if this is the same for modern machines, the nes is very old..

I know this because i bought a game from someone and i got a flashing picture, and they said check the box to see if it is Pal A or Pal B and sure enough in the corner of the box it had a B i checked my other nes games and they all had an A.

The games are all the same in pal territories, which is why we have to suffer the wait when they spend 6 months translating it into 6 languages

My MD and SNES were bought in Germany and I played UK games on both of them.

And I think nearly all PAL games come multilanguage.

The EU wouldn't let the DVD Consortium stick the UK in a different region than the rest of Europe, even though they originally wanted to - it's against their cross-border trade laws. So I can't see Microsoft getting away with the same tactic.
