Megadrive Power Problem

Got a Jap Megadrive, came with a power pack and step down. Worked fine but I think the step down has now had it. Got power supply, set it to 9v and negative polarity and it powers up, but no pic and a buzzin sound.

Megadrive works fine as I tried it with my brothers proper Sega PSU

Any ideas???

Megadrive takes 10v doesn't it?
Check your ariel connections too. Are you using an RF adaptor? RF adaptors have a nice habit of falling apart after a while with loose wiring inside which results in no picture and a buzzing sound where it's all come loose, have had that before a few times in the past.
