PSP - playing 2.0 game on 1.5 firmware?

Rebought a PSP after 4 months of selling my old one. All my games used to run fine on 1.50 so I could keep the homebrew option open. Got a 1.50 again but want to play GTA LCS which wants me to upgrade to 2.0.

Is there some sort of program which'll bypass the firmware check? Preferably without doing some dodgy upgrade/downgrade involved!

Yes, but in GTA LCS case, it actually uses some of the new video codecs introduced as part of v2.0. So you need to install to v2.0 to be able to play the game fullstop. Having said that, I believe they've managed to get homebrew working on v2.0...?

Ahh I see. Well I guess I'll just update. Homebrew as an option is nice but not if it's gonna stop me playing new games.

I did read some info on upgrading to 2.0 and then downgrading to 1.5 but that sounds like too much hassle and slightly dangerous considering homebrew isn't why I bought it (LCS, PoPoLoCrois, Initial D, Outrun....GT4)
