    A 360, a PC, some cable...now what?

I've managed to connect my 360 to my non-Media Center PC via a router through the ethernet cable that came with the 360. Downloaded Media Connect from xbox.com and had my 360 playing Music and Pitures from my PC in no time. Now, what I was hoping to do was transfer data - other than Pictures and Music - to the 360. First of all I found I couldnt save the music and pictures I was playing from the PC onto the 360 and inturn this made me think I wouldnt be able to transfer any kind of data to the 360. Is this true? If not, what am I missing?

Bearing in mind I dont have Xbox Live - yet - but would this make any difference?

    Cheers guys and gals.

    Yes.

You can stream Music and photos through Media connect PC, if you have a Windows media centre edition you can also stream video. You can also stream photos from a camera, or music from an MP3 player.

The key word here is "stream"

So when you connect to Xbox Live, downloads such as Demos and the like go directly to the 360? Meaning there is no way of data transfer between PC and 360 at present, correct?

      If so, then.....DOH!

Its all about streaming m8, no data transfer at all, for security reasons, the same reason you cannot even transfer game saves from the original xbox.

To be perfectly honest I'm quite pleased that you can't, after suffering at the hand of modded content for halo 2 on the original xbox.

Correct - You can't even get photo's from PGR3 over to PC to send out to people.

What format does PGR3 save photos in? Surely you could transfer them to the system's optional memory stick and then use a USB converter to move them over?

Even if a PC converter hasn't been released for the 360's memory card/stick, I'd imagine it wouldn't be long.
