    Wireless routers

I'm planning on setting up a wireless network in my house and was wondering about connection speeds.

I've got a 2 meg connection at the moment. From my experience with wireless networks so far the best connection speeds i've had on my laptop are about 0.5meg. I'm guessing this is down to the wirelsss card in my laptop being restricted to this and/or the wireless router being restricted to this speed.

Basically can i get a wireless connection on my laptop that enables me to use my full 2 meg bandwidth and what would i need to do it?

2megabit is nothing for a wireless connection, even 802.11b is 11megabit.

you shouldn't have any problem accessing your full internet bandwidth with the laptop.

Sorry to sneak this in ...

Does anyone know the health implications of wireless routers? Are they 100% biologically safe or only 99.9% ? as I suffer from various non critical terminal ailments this would be my main concern over what I use atm - which is standard speed computers with screened cabling.
