Digital output from an NTSC Gamecube

I've Googled exhaustively for some information on this and can't find much solid information. Can anybody help?

I'm in the UK and I have a US NTSC Gamecube. What's the best way to get the best progressive output from it?

I have a Sony 32" LCD with HDMI in, and would love to see the Gamecube progressively on this display. Any tips?

    Thanks!

Not so sure myself, but I believe you need a Component Cable? You can get one from http://www.liksang.com or somewhere like that.

I myself use a modded component cable and get RGB off my JPN Cube. Superb it is too.

          Many thanks for the replies.

I was hoping that the digital out on the GC could be used directly with a digital HDMI socket on the display.

Using the digital out on the GC to go to component (analogue) and then to go to a digital display, such as a flatscreen Sony with HDMI seems a shame.

Are you all using the component cable with a CRT display?

The Sony component inputs tend to look better than their digital input anyway so I wouldn't worry about it too much mate, just go in component.

The 'digital' out on the GC is misnamed. It doesn't output a digital signal in the DVI/HDMI sense of the word. Component is what it's for, or if you wanted you could use a VGA adapter if you have a VGA input.
