Firmware Problems - Need QUICK Help

Hey guys I bought Smackdown v Raw 2006 for the PSP and it is telling me to upgrade to 2.5 so might has well upgrade to 2.6 while I am at it.

So I download stick it on my memory stick load it up and all I see is a Yellow Background and there is NO TEXT just X and O at the buttom and I cannot do anything.

So what is wrong?

Go into the options and select reset to factory settings (or something to that effect).

If you try and update without doing this there is a chance you will kill your psp.
