DHL Import Duty

Got my 360 from VG+ today,via DHL.

Got hit with no import duty,so does this mean it made it through for no extra charge,or do DHL send you an invoice at a later date?

They'll send you something in a couple of weeks. Can't see that slipping by them I'm afraid

And if it's anything over ?10 they'll chase it up if you don't pay it. Or so they told me

I still haven't had any bill through from DHL yet for my 360 - somehow I doubt I'm that lucky to have gotten away with it, but I live in hope

i too got mine from VG+ thanks to mr pavey,
DHL tried to rob mine ,i swear...
couldnt find it in the warehouse for 12hours,
i mentioned i would be turning up and calling in the old bill and it magically appeared!!

so if they try n hit me for import tax i may have words

btw-they "lost" a printer from pc world for me last week too,funny the usb cable they found......... hmmmmmmmm

I've NEVER had anything shipped from VGP hit with customs, hence the reason why I use them religiously for my ps2 games

If the package wasn't marked down then i'd expect to be getting a letter, i'm sure it's compulsory for them to claim on anything above the usual amount

Just an update on my above post, 3 months on and DHL have finally got around to sending me a ?80 bill for my imported 360.

I'm fine with that, but I take exception to them sending out the first invoice and a warning reminder that I haven't paid them at the same time (the envelopes are date stamped the same, meaning they were obviously sent out at the same time).

Paying isn't a problem, but they'll be getting an arsey letter off me about their crap billing service.

Tax with DHL have always been hit and miss for me. I got taxed for a Panasonic Q and a Hori stick a couple of years ago, but not for a PS2 and a GBA:SP around the same time.

Worse with me i bought something cannot remember what it was now but there was import tax on it.....i never knew this as it was not mentioned on the packaging and the driver never collected anything.

Then about 4 months later i recieved a letter from debt collectors saying i owe ?30.I mean they never even contacted me which seems stupid

what i dont like is the smarmy twat who laughs in your face when you hand over the money

our local UPS driver is spot on - nice guy and actually hates charging you

i was nearly sent to a debt collector over ?18 from TNT, told them i wasnt paying and a couple of days later i got a letter from a debt collector

instantly tail between my legs giving my credit card details to TNT for the ?18

its not worth getting a debt collecor chasing you over a couple of quid

Debt Collectors? That would be interesting.

I had something delivered by DHL last May and and they sent the invoice for ?14 in July. I still have not paid it and I only recieved 2 reminders in this last 7 months.

i am waiting now for dhl to try and bill me for the xbox360 from vg in canada.
as i said before the "lost" a printer of mine and would have "lost" the 360 i'm sure if i hadn't use police as a threat.
i think i will tell them i will pay up when they find my "lost" goods

an employee there even admitted to me some of the warehouse guys were being ,in his words "naughty"
i advise anyone hassled by dhl to giv them as much grief as possible and avoid payin duties.
