    360s on normal Tellys...

I'm buying a 360 sometime next week, (stock providing) and I was wondering what there like on Normal ****ty 21inch Tvs? All the threads on hear seem to be towards LCD's and Plasmas.....

Using the 360 on a HD Ready display is really where it's all at. If you haven't got one, try to at least get a Scart cable, so you don't have to put up with crappy composite.

I've not actually played on a 360 through anything other than 720p, but I think it's safe to say it'll still look better than anything else you've played through your "****ty 21inch TV"

I haven't played the 360 on anything other than hi-def, but you can be safe in the knowledge that the likes of PGR3 and Kameo will still look better than your current gen games. The difference won't be as noticeable, but things like the motion blur, polygon amounts, window reflections, in-car modelling, HDR lighting etc.

All the subtle details which go up to adding the layers to PGR3's visually will still be evident. I'd imagine it'd be the same for other games.

You may not experience the wow factor without a HDTV, however.

Looks fine thru normal TV ive just started using the VGA cable now tho and yes it looks nicer but not as "nicer" as most people think. Things are shaper and clearer but playing thru non HD 360 still looks very good.

prepared to be shocked. The 360 looks suprisingly spanky through the standard composite cables.

A step up from the xbox, without a doubt.Just make sure you get games like PGR3,Kameo,Call Of Duty 2,PDZ,Condemned.

Crap like THPS:AW won't look much better than the current xbox version.

Yes dont worry about not having all the fancy tech I have it on standard television and I think it looks super!, try the demos online like nba to really see some very pretty graphics, kameo is pretty generic and king kong looks a bit lazy

Initially I was playing my 360 in standard definition, and to be honest...I was quite satisfied with how it looked. I was using a 32inch widescreen tv and I had no real complaint. I just got a little jealous reading about everyone's hi-def experiences so I went out and the weakling that I am I spent a fortune on the 32inch samsung LCD. It does look a lot better in hi-def, but standard definition is by no means detrimental to the next-gen experience.

I was using my 21" for a week until my HDTV got fixed and it looked much better than I expected, even though standard composite. Grab yourself an RGB cable and ignore all those websites that claim it looks the same as the Xbox without HiDef because they're talking out of their arse.

I initially had mine running in 480i. For stuff like Gotham you're not really missing much by running in low-res, but for Kameo and Condemned I knew I was missing a world of texture detail.

Now I run in 720p through VGA and it makes a big difference for those games. I'm currently playing through King Kong, where the differences between the regular console versions and the 360 port is all in the texture detail - something you would completely lose by not running in HD.

So yeah, it depends what you're going to play really. Condemned pretty much *needs* HD, as it really looks like a muddy, fuzzy mess without it. So much so I'd avoid playing it until you upgrade. (which would be a big loss, as it's the best game on the system)
