    About SNES Cartridges

Hi! I'm going to get some used Super Nintendo games off eBay. Some of them have a built in save feature i.e.Chrono Trigger. I was wondering how likely is it for the battery to be dead? Is it easy to fix, considering one has one of these special tool tips to open a cart with? Where can I get these batteries from?

they are just CR2032 CMOS batteries no?

if so you can get them 6 for 3 quid on ebay, or any battery shop in town

the batteries usually last around 10 years i think

yeah they are just cr2032, easiest way is to just unsolder the battery holder contacts, carefully yank them off the battery with a pair of pliers then solder the contacts back to the board and secure a new battery in with insulation tape

unless you can find a thin enough replacement battery holder to be able to fit in the cartridge.

What about cleaning a cart? How do I go about doing that without damaging one?
