    XBox 360 LCD/Router Question - Please help!!!

    Hi there. I'm sorry for the question - lots being asked at the mo about the 360. Any help would be appreciated.

    Bought a 360 and HiDef official to hook up to my LCD HD tv. When I tried to fit this at home suddenly realised that the 360 hasn't got a HDMI output, and the cable I bought is fitted with PC like sockets. So, I'm wondering - is composite the best other option ?? The bundled cable I'm playing with makes my eyes and tv bleed real bad.....any ideas ???

    Also, using a Netgear DG834 here ;

    and telewest broadband, my xbox cant connect to live. It says that the DNS fails with man. input and automatic.....anyone else have this problem ?? Any ideas ???

    Many many thanks guys

    If it's a HDTV you've got, you should either be able to run 720p through component, or VGA. (sounds like the lead you bought?) If not... are you sure it's HD?

    What model is it?

      must be the router try connecting the 360 direct to your cable modem then switch modem off&on again

        VGA is indeed the lead - the TV is a Lg something. Has x2 scarts, Comp. and the HDMI. Will have to try and swap the cable for a comp - they expensive ?? I remember my GC one was.....

        Yoshi - will try that now......

          Right. Connected the cable - tested the connection ; failed. Turned router off, on the retested ; failed.
          Does it need to be direct to the cable mode?? Bypassing the router ?

              Sorry WG I was posting from PSP last night so had to limit text (total pain in the arse).

              I'm on Telewest and the only time I have a problem is if the PC has been connected direct to the cable modem and i then connect the 360 or xbox1 without resetting the cable modem.

              If you connect the console directly to the modem and it's not working something is wrong - You're not using a crossover cable are you ? If so, get one that isn't.

              If you still can't get online I'd phone Telewest - always been really helpful in my experience.

              Can't help with TV about to go LCD hunting now

                I'm assuming that you meant Component rather than Composite? (you'll have red, green & blue inputs on the back of the tv if it has component sockets - check your tv's manual if in doubt tho).

                If your set does have a component input then the lead you've linked to is perfect. They're in short supply at the moment though (Amazon are quoting 1-3 months) so it might be worth trying your local Game/ Gamestation etc. in case they have stock, ebay (expensive) or by posting in the Wanted boards here.
