Time to get a PS2... PAL or import? i need some advice

I would like to get a PS2 in the next days, but i am in doubt. Does it worth to get a NTSC? It is only £95 in Videogamesplus, how much would it be with customs?
Is 60hz option a standard on PAL PS2 games as it happens with the Gamecube?
Im not very interested on mainstream games, i have just noticed for example that tronixweb has REZ in stock. thinks like that make me think that importing is the way to go. Am i right? Does it worth it?

60Hz is very uncommon on the PAL PS2. Some companies do it... all post-Devil May Cry Capcom games, some Sega games etc, little else. Certainly no Sony, SquareEnix etc.
Most PAL titles also tend to have the Progressive Scan modes removed, and even GT4 had the 1080i removed.

i would say go for an import ps2 as not all pal games have a 60hz mode and some pal games the conversions are bad

Also don't worry about customs if you buy your pstwo from VGP, they'l mark it down for ya and send DHL

i think they made have changed their policies wrt machines

as all teh 360's that were sent out were not marked down

still sent via DHL - which is a super courier
