    buyin a laptop query

    I'm considerin this laptop:

    http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/Conten...-VGNFS315E.htm

Don't really know much about how to determine if a computer is powerful etc. If someone could drop an opinion on wheather this is a decent laptop for the money (?660) or if anyone can recommend somethin for that amount of money.

    If someone could comment on:

    processor
    graphics card
    ram

Not really gonna be using it for gaming. Only PC game i've got is soldier of fortune 2... would that even work decently on this laptop???

of course if this is a decent buy, im gonna visit some of the PC shops to see of they can at least match the price or perhaps even if they can offer somethin better.

    i'd appreciate any info

If it's just going to be used for general surfing, word processing, etc.,any modern laptop has more than enough power. My 5 year old VAIO still works well as net mule, and it has considerably less memory and a slower CPU, so that model wil be fine. Value wise I don't know, maybe some of the other members could help you out there.

I just bought my sister one of these, hasn't arrived yet but for general usage it seems to be fantastic value (stick a little bit more RAM in for ?20 and it should be great). No idea as to it's gaming capabilites though, so it might not be that much use if that's what you were after it for - though I'd be very suprised if Soldier Of Fortune II wouldn't work well enough on it looking at it's system requirements.

I'll post again once it's arrived and I've had a proper look at it if you're interested .

Sometimes PC World prices are cheaper, especially if your buy on the website and collect in store. I did that with a Laser printer ?99.99 in store, ?81.50 online.
Reserved it online for store collection and paid the cheaper price (online price was not the cheapest but not far off, but i got it the same day and paid no delivery).

I do feel dirty after purchasing from PC World, but i get over it.
