Ridge Racer 6 Region Locking?

Has anyone bought a us copy of ridge racer 6 that hasnt worked on their pal 360?

there are rumors that only the 1st production batch are region free, can anyone tell me this is definitly true and applys to pal systems (not japanese)?

I didn't order mine until the 20th of December or so from Videogamesplus, which works fine. So unless the first batch ran out in the last couple of weeks it should be fine?

If this is true, could EA have played a part?

Won't matter now, as the UK game is out in a few weeks. Us importers already got our head start, and got to give out money to Namco instead.
