The default redhat, old kernel (2.2.1 i think).

the PS2 is a bit short on RAM, so most of the time i run apps off the backend server (an old HP with a TV capture card) using Xforwarding.

it is very cool seeing the hardware detected as a MIPS 333mhz RISC chip (the ps2 processor). odschool architecture power

now i just got to get the MythTV frontend on and working...and the PS2 remote which will be a complete c*nt.

then the backend server goes in a cupboard, and the PS2 acts as a thin client for MythTV PVR and running MAME.

        geek-tastic.

oh and MythTV for windows on my PC in the other room (wifi) so i can watch and record TV from there too
