Actually Datel were originally scheduled to release DVD Region X for the Xbox but it got withdrawn before it was even released due to pressure from Microsoft.

They were probably worried the hackers would have a field day and be booting games without anyhting being done to the console.

Datel are master hackers I remember trying putting a datel VGA boot disc (ps2) in my pc once to have a look, it came up as crazy taxi :S

That was so Sony couldn't block it in later revisions of the Hardware. They did the same with the freeloader using an NHL Hitz header.
